Dr Rumana Akhter Saifi is a faculty member in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, with extensive experience in research, teaching, and research administration. She is a faculty scholar in the Fogarty Science of Implementation Training Program, a Yale–UM initiative to establish a regional implementation research hub in Malaysia, and serves as faculty for the Master of Health Research Ethics (MOHRE) Program, a Johns Hopkins–UM collaboration supported by the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Her work over the past five years has focused on advancing implementation science, strengthening ethics education, and developing mobile health and AI-driven interventions to improve healthcare access for vulnerable populations. She currently leads or collaborates on multiple international research grants, reflecting her commitment to impactful, interdisciplinary, and globally connected research.
