Dr. Shaikh Mohd Saifuddeen is a researcher in the field of ethics, particularly Islamic bioethics.  His expertise is in the interaction between religion and science. Throughout his career, which began in 1996, he has served both public and private research institutions and academia. He has  contributed to discussions on the ethical dimensions of science, technology, medicine, and the  environment from an Islamic perspective. His work focuses on integrating Islamic principles and  values with contemporary issues, fostering understanding between traditional ethics and modern  scientific challenges. His current research project on gamete cell cryopreservation from an Islamic  perspective aims to address the Islamic moral status of the technology. The technology has the  potential to help cancer patients at risk of infertility after cancer treatment to achieve biological  parenthood by undergoing in-vitro fertilisation. As this technology is available in Malaysia, the  research is important in that it provides guidance to patients with needs for this technology.
