Professor Dr. Wong Li Ping is a public health researcher and Professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at Universiti Malaya, with over two decades of experience in social-behavioral medicine. Her research spans infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, and pandemic responses, integrating biological, psychological, and social perspectives to address complex public health challenges. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led collaborative studies across Asia that informed vaccine acceptance, mental health interventions, and health communication strategies. She also serves on the Silent Mentor Program (SMP) committee at Universiti Malaya, investigating the psychological and ethical dimensions of body donation. Her current bioethics project, “Exploring the Bioethical Implications of Delayed and Non-Traditional Funerals in the Silent Mentor Program,” reflects her commitment to culturally grounded ethical inquiry and the development of respectful, context-sensitive practices in medical education.
