Dr Janet Alexis  De los Santos is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Visayas State University in the Philippines and Head of the University Research Ethics Board. As a nurse educator and researcher, her work focuses on HIV stigma and its impact on both people living with HIV and the healthcare workers who support them. Her research explores the ethical dilemmas and vicarious trauma experienced by case managers and nurses in high-stigma, resource-limited settings, and how these challenges shape care and professional well-being. Through her fellowship project, she aims to advance ethical support systems and resilience-building strategies for frontline health workers, contributing to more compassionate, stigma-free, and person-centred HIV care.
