Abdul Halim Bin Ibrahim The Use of Cannabis for Medical Purposes In Malaysia: An Islamic Bioethical Perspective Abdul Halim bin Ibrahim, graduated of bachelor, master, and doctorate from Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has been appointed as a senior lecture at Programme of Applied Science with Islamic Studies, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya since 2018. He has published numerous articles related with Islamic bioethical discourses in renowned international indexed journals. He has also authored a book entitled “Bioetika Islam: Pendekatan Berasaskan Maqasid Syariah (Islamic Bioethics: Maqasid Shariah based Approach)”. His current research which is awarded by SEABion entitled “The Use of Cannabis for Medical Purposes in Malaysia: An Islamic Bioethical Perspective” is believed to potentially provide significant input and suggestion for formulating policy regarding the use of cannabis for medical purposes to Malaysian health and Islamic Affairs authorities, input to the formulating related laws and rules for the use of cannabis for medical purposes in Malaysia, and significant contribution to the body of knowledge
